2009 FIRST Robotics Competition
March 27 – 28, 9am – 3:30pm
Join FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) for its FIRST Robotics Competition season kickoff event, and see our future scientists and high tech engineers in action.
It includes 49 Washington high school teams competing in “Lunacy,” a game akin to dodge ball on the moon with zero gravity. Each team works with a professional mentor and a common kit of parts made up of motors, batteries, a control system, and a mix of automation components – but no instructions. They’ll have six weeks to design and build robots to meet this year’s challenge.
